CHECKING OUT BOOKS, MAGAZINES AND NEWSPAPERS
You may check out most BOOKS
for a two-week period and may renew them for up to two additional loan
periods, as long as the title or subject is not needed by other
patrons. The library may recall a renewed book at any time, as demand
warrants. A book is considered overdue the day after the due date
assigned by the checkout system.
Items classified as REFERENCE BOOKS must be used in the
library. Reference materials may be shared among the libraries in the
Region, and will be restricted to use inside the borrowing library.
You may check out back issues of MAGAZINES for a
two-week period. The most current issue of any magazine must be used
in the library.
You may check out current editions of NEWSPAPERS at the
end of the day for overnight loan. Older editions of newspapers may
be checked out at any time of day, and also have a 1-day loan period.
A few books in the library are in such demand that the
librarian may require a returnable deposit when you check them out.
Your deposit is returned to you when you return the item to the
library within the agreed loan period. Please be sure that you
understand the special conditions that apply when checking out these
items. |
