GIFTS AND DONATIONS
Your monetary gifts
to your county library or to the Pettigrew Regional Library system are
always welcome and appreciated. Gifts may take the form of endowments, bequests, gifts in memory of or
in honor of someone, or as unspecified donations. Any limitations or
conditions attached to a monetary or tangible gift must be explicitly
approved by action of the appropriate library board.
If you would like to
give new books, audios, videos, or magazine subscriptions to the
library, please confer with the librarian to verify that the material
is suitable to be added to the collection. Book plates will be
attached to such donated materials. Please be aware that donated
materials will be subject to the same conditions as are applied to
regular library materials, including public use, evaluation, and
eventual disposal.
Used books in good
condition will be accepted by the libraries on the condition that the
librarian has authority to use and/or dispose of the materials in the
manner deemed most appropriate and beneficial to the library.
The library staff may
not appraise gifts or attach a value to your donation for tax
purposes. However, a receipt will be provided from which you (or your
tax preparer) can assign a value to the donation you have made to the
library. |
